Dashboard Assistant

The Assistant button in the merchant dashboard opens a private conversation beside your work. Availability depends on your workspace's rollout access and your permissions. On smaller screens, the conversation opens in a drawer.

Get help with the current page

Ask a question such as “How do I create an overlay draft?” The assistant searches the current documentation and includes source links. Open a source to check the instructions. If documentation is unavailable, or only English help is available, the answer explains that limitation.

The context label shows the current page and website. Moving to another page on the same website preserves your conversation. Changing websites starts a separate conversation. If context changes while an answer is running, the assistant stops that answer so it cannot act on the previous page.

Explore products, customers and analytics

Try “Find House Blend coffee and show its price and stock” or “Show observed revenue for this website last week.” Cards, tables and charts use the records returned for your current permissions and website. Dates, currencies, data coverage and freshness matter when comparing results. Missing data is not a zero value, and different currencies are kept separate.

Customer results use masked profiles. If multiple customers match a name, choose the intended profile before asking for details. Contact details remain in the customer profile screen. The assistant cannot change customer or product records.

Some answers include a short form to collect a headline, tone or another needed detail. Submit the form once you are ready. Older forms in restored history cannot be submitted again.

Create and edit overlays

  1. Open Overlays and select the website you want to work on.
  2. Ask for a draft and describe its purpose, audience and content. For example: “Create a welcome overlay with a heading, a short paragraph and a link to our shop.”
  3. Review the draft in the editor, including its desktop, mobile and thank-you content where applicable.
  4. Select a block and ask for a specific edit, such as “Shorten this heading and keep the rest unchanged.”
  5. Use Undo change on a current change receipt, or the editor's Undo and Redo controls, to adjust the result.
  6. Save through the editor when ready. Review delivery settings and activate through the existing campaign controls.

Requested changes update the unsaved canvas. A preview or change receipt does not save, publish or activate a campaign. If the canvas changes while the assistant is working, the pending edit stops instead of replacing your newer work. Ask again with the current content.

Existing custom HTML and CSS are preserved. The assistant uses supported native blocks and existing product, media and destination references. A coupon block needs a real discount code; the assistant does not create discounts. Experiment variants retain their existing editing restrictions. See Overlays for delivery and activation guidance.

Private history and deletion

Conversations belong to your teammate account within the current workspace and website scope. Other teammates cannot open your history. History is retained for 30 days from conversation creation. Conversation history lets you reopen or delete a conversation; New conversation starts fresh.

Reopening history shows earlier answers and retrievals. It does not rerun an edit, submit an old form or refresh the underlying data. Ask a new question for current records. Closing or resizing the sidebar keeps your unsent text in memory; reloading the page can discard unsent text.

Interrupted answers and support

Use Stop to stop a running answer. If an answer is interrupted, Retry first checks for a completed response so it can recover without repeating a canvas edit. Usage limits are shared across the workspace; follow the displayed message before trying again.

The assistant provides self-service help. It can prepare a support summary that you can copy, but it does not submit tickets, email support or contact customers. Review the summary and add any missing details before sharing it through your usual support channel.
